Sandpoint, Idaho has been our home since 1976. Before then we were involved in wildlife management with the Iowa Conservation Commission. Thousands of hours have been spent observing all forms of wildlife from Iowa to Alaska.

In 1997 Ardella came up with the idea of carving geese from weathered wood. This concept developed into using the native woods of North Idaho to produce high quality, attractive art. Each piece is an original because of the unique features of the piece of wood. We collect our wood from dead and down trees or driftwood from the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. Each pattern is our own design and each piece is hand painted.

Quality and customer satisfaction are a priority. As a result we have many private collectors across the country.

Wood N Wings Studio is located on the north side of Sandpoint, near the base of Schweitzer Ski Mountain. The backyard is a small wildlife sanctuary. We have recorded over 70 varieties of birds as visitors along with several resident deer, an occasional bear, and various small critters – especially squirrels.

Our carvings can be found at quality gift stores in Idaho, Montana, Washington, California, Illinois, Michigan and New York. We continue to support several conservation organizations with or work. Our art has been used to raise funds for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, National Turkey Federation and Pheasants Forever.
